Annual Fundraiser Pool Tournament
In memory of Roy Skenandore
The annual Roy Skenandore Memorial Tournament Fundraiser began as a shared vision between Wise Women Gathering Place founder Alice Skenandore and her husband, Roy Skenandore.
Roy was a renowned Native American pool playing champ in the region and was a part of a tightly knit pool family. He was excited about the idea of bringing people together through the game he loved to support the mission of Wise Women Gathering Place. Roy also served as a dedicated member of the Wise Women Gathering Place Board, supporting the organization’s work to promote peace, respect, and belonging by displacing violence with healing pathways and healthy relationships.
After Roy’s passing, the community carried forward the vision he and Alice began together. Today, the tournament continues in his memory—honoring his love of the game, his commitment to Wise Women Gathering Place, and the community that gathers each year to support this work.
Tournament Details
Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Co. will host the 2nd annual Roy Skenandore Memorial Tournament Fundraiser for Wise Women Gathering Place at 3025 W College Ave, in Appleton. Saturday's tournament includes a Women's 8-Ball Scotch Doubles. Sunday the house tournament will be dedicated to Roy Skenandore.
Invitation
We invite players to join the tournament and help fundraise for tickets to win an exclusive tournament hoodie. We invite community members to come out to watch the games, dine out, and participate in the 50/50 raffle and purchase tickets for the raffle basket drawings.
Women's 8-Ball Scotch Doubles
Registration
Space is limited to 32 teams for the Women's 8-Ball Scotch Doubles tournament and the entry fee is $100 with $25 benefiting Wise Women Gathering Place—Thank you! The max fargo rate per team is 900. Side pot entry will include a donation. Added money is yet to be determined. The finals will be livestreamed!
Registration is available online or you can register the day of the tournament if there are open spots. You can also let us know you're coming by calling Brenda at 920-309-8154 or [email protected] to put your name on the list. Registration opens at 9am and play begins at 10. Please plan to arrive early to pay the entry fees if registering in person.
